![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() In truth, Plymouth only made 5,303 Furys for the 1958 model year, which makes this model considerably rarer than, say, a much more plentiful, 1958 Chevrolet Impala. Several of which were ultimately destroyed, but one documented car from filming still exists today (as well as an alleged second car that lacks documentation). All told, 16 of these cars were used in filming Christine, with another 7 being kept on-site for parts as needed. ![]() 1957 models were also implemented, due to the strong similarities in their body styles as well. As a result, cars like the 1958 Plymouth Belvedere, Plaza, and Savoy were utilized due to their availability. Virtually all of Plymouth's 1958 lineup shared the same basic body design, as was prominent with several American manufacturers during the 1950s. However, it's unclear exactly how many 1958 Plymouth Furys were used filming Christine, as several Belvederes and other models were consequently used in their place. When John Carpenter was filming Christine, he had his team place ads across the country to acquire as many as 23 Plymouths of similar vintage to the 1958 Fury. ![]()
